Privacy policy

This page explains what personal details we collect on the Book a Pandit service, why, and how we protect them. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

• Families who book a puja: name, mobile number, city, area, optional address, the puja, date and notes you give us.
• Pandits who register: name, mobile and WhatsApp numbers, city, area, photo, pujas, languages, experience, availability, starting dakshina, the type of ID and only its last 4 characters.
• Your internet (IP) address, used only to stop spam and misuse.

Why we use it

• To confirm your booking and connect you with a suitable pandit.
• To verify pandits before showing them to families.
• To contact you about your booking or registration.

Who sees it

• Our team, to manage bookings.
• The pandit assigned to your booking receives your name, phone, area and address, only for that puja.
• Families see a pandit's public profile: name, photo, area, pujas, languages, experience and dakshina. A pandit's phone number is never shown publicly.
• We never sell your details or use them for unrelated advertising.

How long we keep it

Booking records are kept for up to 3 years for accounts and disputes. Pandit profiles are kept while the pandit is registered. You can ask us to delete your details at any time.
